FORD PUMA HYBRID RALLY1
Designed to the new-for-2022 FIA Rally1 technical regulations, the Ford Puma Hybrid Rally1 is M-Sport's top-specification rally car – producing in excess of 500 bhp and 550 Nm of torque from its Ecoboost Hybrid powertrain.

The Puma Hybrid Rally1 utilises an all new bespoke tubular T45 steel space frame chassis, providing an enhanced safety cell for the crew, a product of years of research and development undertaken in partnership with the FIA to further improve driver and co-driver safety standards.
Marking a landmark moment in rally history, the Puma Hybrid Rally1 is the first hybrid FIA homologated car eligible for competition in the top category of the WRC. The battery-electric motor element of the hybrid powertrain captures energy during braking, storing it in a 3.9 kWh battery. The recovered energy can then be deployed via a 100kW electric motor in unison with the 1.6-litre EcoBoost engine to produce a total peak power output of over 500 bhp.

The Puma Hybrid Rally1 can also use the recovered energy for environmentally friendly and emission free purposes, running exclusively on its battery-electric motor. The all-electric mode helps to ensure minimal environmental impact when travelling through towns, cities, service parks and chosen sections between stages. Thanks to its plug-in hybrid technology, the battery pack can also be recharged using a bespoke charging unit back in the service park. In addition to the emission free electric powertrain, the internal combustion uses a fossil-free fuel that is made from 100% sustainable sources.
