Gearbox Technician - Required immediately to support our programs in the workshop & on event. 

Role: 

Responsible for the build, servicing and on event support of gearboxes and rear differentials on rally, race and test events. The role requires a consistently high level of performance and quality in a highly pressurised and time sensitive environment. The role would suit a self-motivated team player with an enthusiastic and positive attitude. A flexible approach to working hours is required and extensive world travel involved.

On event responsibilities 

  • Liaise with event engineers, No1 car mechanics and team manager.
  • Gearbox fault finding and subsequent rectification on event.
  • Gearbox and Rear Differential set up changes.
  • Update lifing system.
  • Spares stock control.

Factory responsibilities:

  • Report to gearbox dept manager and transmission engineer whilst at the factory.
  • Post event gearbox health checks.
  • Ensure gearboxes for the next event are built to the correct specification.
  • All parts for the next event are to correct mileage parameters and specification.
  • Supply shortage lists to Department manager.
  • Assist with kitting and gearbox builds.
  • Clean and measure clutches.
  • Attend rally/race car shakedown sessions.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • Have previous transmission build experience in Motorsport or Automotive.
  • Have a thorough understanding of engineering principles.
  • Have meticulous attention to detail.
  • Good communication skills.
  • An understanding of NDT magnetic particle crack checking procedures.
